We have been watching a lot of John Cusack movies lately, but his movies dont really pan out to anything good. We have rented numerous old 80s movies of his, and about an hour into it, we are ready to turn it off ("Better off Dead", "One Crazy Summer" and a few others). This one was better than those old ones, but still, not worth watching in theaters.
The movie plot has John Cusack going from haunted house to haunted house looking for ghosts, but there really isn’t anything crazy scary in it. Even when he is staying in Room 1408, it’s not off the hook scary. I’ll admit, a couple times I found myself interested, but then it took a drop off to a long drawn out scene.
I love Samuel L. Jackson but he hardly played a roll in this movie. That bumbed me out also. I wish he was more involved.
Overall, I gave this a C-. I feel that was nice. 3 of the 4 people we went with agreed that it was not that good. One of them really liked it.
